Total Cat Head Eclipse of the Sun

"Total Cat Head Eclipse of the Sun"
Pen on Legal Paper by KK Remus (c) 2020

Afternoon is the new night.  Night is the new day.  Surreal is the new real.  But one thing will never change:  A Total Cat Head Eclipse of the Sun will always be a sight so awesome and rare to behold, that it will blow your friggen brains.

I was napping on my side with the afternoon sun shining orange through my lids, when suddenly, the brilliant glow was completely obscured by a green/blue orb.  I awoke.  I slowly opened my eyes, and saw that the orb was my cat's head.

Emma is an orange striped cat with a roughly baseball sized head and a penchant for waking up humans during the deepest stages of REM sleep. Meowing loudly into your ear is her most common and annoying method.  Perfectly eclipsing the sun with her noggin is the newest, most creative, and least annoying method she has employed to date.  In fact, she made me laugh.

Cats are powerful enough to blot out the sun, but if you are good to them, they will love you forever.
