One Cliche Too Far

A New Poem by Karen Kay Remus

One Cliche Too Far
by Karen Remus (c) 2018

I cut off my nose to spite my face
But sewed it back on in time
A stitch in time saves nine, you know
So my nose and my face were fine
I counted my chickens before they were hatched
And put all my eggs in one basket
Then I loosened my lips
And sank all the ships
And now, I'm laid out in a casket
